Heavy rains revive crops, flood Karimnagar district

Heavy rains revive crops, flood Karimnagar district

A big rainstorm hit the Karimnagar area in India, giving farmers a much‑needed boost for their crops.

The rain helped fill up rivers and reservoirs, so farmers could plant paddy, cotton, and other crops.

But the water also flooded low places, making roads and bridges dangerous.

In the nearby coal mines, the water stopped about 50,000 tonnes of coal from being made.

Because of the rain, the local school district decided to close schools on July 31 to keep everyone safe.
