Tamil Nadu Removes Two IPS Officers Amid Veeramani POCSO Case

The case involves allegations that minor girls were sexually abused by granite businessman R Veeramani.

Congress leader M P Ranjan Kumar said he gave police a complaint and video evidence in 2024.

He said the police did not take enough action afterward.

The Tamil Nadu government later placed two senior IPS officers, A Arun and N Kannan, on compulsory wait.

Kumar and Tamilaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader John Pandian have made different accusations about money and the case.

Pandian denied Kumar’s claims and accused Kumar and Shanti of seeking money from Veeramani.

Some people have also made unverified claims about attempts to suppress the case.

DMK president M K Stalin said the victims must receive justice and perpetrators should receive the maximum punishment.
