Midhani Cleared for Indigenous Aero Alloy Production for HAL
A company called Midhani, which makes special metals, has been given the OK to start making special metal parts for airplane engines.
These parts are like super-strong metals called superalloys, titanium, and special steels.
They are important for making airplane engines work better.
Midhani has been working hard to create and test these metals, and now they can make them in larger amounts.
This is good because India is trying to make more of its own airplane parts instead of buying them from other countries.
A special group that checks safety and quality gave Midhani the approval.
This will help make sure India's own airplane engines can be built with these new, strong materials.
Midhani has received certification from CEMILAC to produce indigenous alloys for advanced aero engines.
The certified alloys include nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and special steels for critical engine components.
Midhani has developed and certified approximately 80% of the required alloy systems, with the rest in advanced development.
The company has expanded its manufacturing capacity, including a new titanium facility and a powerful forge press.
CEMILAC urged Midhani to maintain its pace of indigenisation and certification for upcoming indigenous aero engine program deadlines.
