Amarnath Yatra Resumes After 6-Day Weather Halt
The Amarnath Yatra, a big pilgrimage, started again after a 6-day break because of bad weather.
Over 6,000 people, including women and children, left Jammu early in the morning in a big group of vehicles.
They are going to the Baltal base camp in Kashmir.
The yatra was stopped because of heavy rain and bad weather.
Now that the weather is better, the journey can continue.
The yatra started on July 2 and will end on August 28.
So far, nearly 400,000 people have visited the holy cave shrine.
The cave shrine is 3,880 metres high and has an ice stalagmite structure that changes with the moon's phases.
Devotees believe this structure symbolises the powers of Lord Shiva.
The Amarnath Yatra resumed on July 25 after a 6-day halt due to bad weather.
Over 6,000 pilgrims left Jammu for the Baltal base camp in 223 vehicles.
The yatra was suspended on July 19 due to persistent rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for three days due to landslides and shooting stones.
Nearly 400,000 pilgrims have visited the cave shrine so far, with around 120,000 starting from Jammu.
