Gautam Adani Reclaims Top Spot in India Rich List
A report ranked some of the richest people and families in India.
Gautam Adani and his family came first.
Mukesh Ambani and his family came second.
The articles give slightly different numbers for both families’ wealth.
The report says Adani’s wealth rose by 13 per cent, while Ambani’s fell by 10 per cent.
L. N. Mittal and his family came third after their wealth rose by 93 per cent.
The list counted 1,810 people who each had at least Rs 1,000 crore.
Together, the people on the list had Rs 187.5 lakh crore.
India was reported to have 391 dollar billionaires.
Gautam Adani and his family ranked first in the 2026 M3M Hurun India Rich List with wealth reported at Rs 9.22-9.23 lakh crore.
Mukesh Ambani and his family ranked second with wealth reported at Rs 8.63-8.64 lakh crore, down 10 per cent.
L. N. Mittal and his family ranked third with wealth reported at Rs 3.39-3.40 lakh crore, after a 93 per cent increase.
The list included 1,810 people with wealth of at least Rs 1,000 crore, 128 more than the previous year.
The listed individuals’ combined wealth rose 12.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 187.5 lakh crore, and India had 391 dollar billionaires.
