Two mobiles, charger seized from gangster's jail cell
In a high-security jail in Gujarat, India, guards found two mobile phones and a charger in the cell of a famous gangster named Vishal Goswami.
He was already in jail for many years because he did bad things like trying to hurt people and taking money by force.
The jail rules say prisoners cannot have phones, so the guards took them away.
This gangster was the first person to be caught under a special law in Gujarat that is used to stop big crimes.
Two mobile phones and a charger were recovered from the high-security cell of convicted gangster Vishal Rameshwarpuri Goswami in Sabarmati Central Jail.
Goswami was sentenced to 21 years in jail in 2023 for extortion, attempted murder, and other offenses.
He was the first person to be booked under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GujCTOC) Act in 2020.
The recovered items included an Apple iPhone without a SIM card, a Lava Hero phone with a Vi SIM card, a broken Airtel SIM card, and a charger.
Goswami was booked under Sections 42, 43, and 45(12) of the Prisons Act, as well as under BNS section 223 for disobedience of an order promulgated by a public servant.
