France Charges 25 in Crypto Abduction and Kidnapping Cases
In France, 25 people, some as young as 16, have been charged with trying to kidnap or actually kidnapping rich people involved in cryptocurrency.
One of the attempts was aimed at the family of the boss of a crypto company.
Some of the kidnappings have already happened.
The police believe that the suspects were trying to get money from these wealthy crypto owners.
The government is worried because this is making wealthy crypto investors feel unsafe.
Some people in the crypto world are asking the government to do more to keep them safe from criminals, like increasing security to make sure these kinds of incidents do not happen again.
Twenty-five suspects, including six minors, have been charged in France over crypto-related kidnapping and attempted abduction cases.
The charges stem from incidents including a May 13 kidnapping attempt on the family of Paymium's CEO in Paris and a thwarted operation in Nantes.
Suspects range in age from 16 to 23; some are accused of carrying out abductions, while others are believed to be involved in logistics.
The investigation also covers other failed attempts, including one the day before the May 13 attempt.
