Ooty Tribals Protest Escalating Man-Animal Conflict, Seek Government Action
Tribal groups in Ooty protested because wild animals are creating danger and damaging farms.
They said two tribal people were killed by tigers during the past year.
The groups said the tigers were not captured afterward.
This has made people in remote hamlets afraid.
Wild elephants have also entered farms near Sholur and damaged crops.
The protesters said families have not received compensation for the damage.
They also want government jobs for the families of the people who were killed.
The groups blamed the forest department and demanded stronger action.
