BSF Women Personnel Hailed as Nation's Pride, Praised for Role in Operation Sindoor
Imagine a special police force called the BSF that guards India's borders.
Recently, a big ceremony was held for 145 women who have just finished their training to become BSF soldiers.
The head of this training center, a high-ranking officer named IG Charu Dhwaj Aggarwal, said these women are a great source of pride for India.
He especially remembered how brave the women soldiers were during a past event called Operation Sindoor, when they bravely stayed at their posts even when facing heavy attacks from Pakistan.
He also mentioned that more and more women are joining the BSF, and the government wants 15% of all soldiers to be women.
These new soldiers will soon go to the borders to protect the country, just like their male colleagues.
The IG praised their hard work and confidence, and they were given awards for doing so well.
BSF Inspector General Charu Dhwaj Aggarwal praised women personnel as the 'pride of the nation' during a passing-out parade in Hoshiarpur.
He highlighted their courage during Operation Sindoor, where they stood firm under heavy Pakistani shelling.
A total of 145 female constables completed their training and attestation ceremony.
Women were first inducted into the BSF general duty cadre in 2008, with a government aim for 15% women personnel.
The newly trained constables will be deployed on international borders alongside their male counterparts.
