AAP Goa Chief Resigns Citing Lack of Democracy
Amit Palekar, who was the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa, has quit the party.
He said he left because he felt the party was not being fair and democratic.
He believed that decisions were only being made by the top leaders and not by discussing with everyone.
He also said he wanted to respect himself and his workers.
Another leader, Shrikrishna Parab, also quit the party on the same day.
Palekar had joined the AAP in 2021 after being with the BJP for a long time.
He ran for office in 2022 but lost.
He thinks the AAP should work with other parties to beat the BJP in Goa.
Amit Palekar resigned from the AAP citing lack of internal democracy and top-down decision making.
He was relieved from his position as AAP Goa president on December 24 following the party's poor performance in zilla panchayat polls.
Palekar had suggested an alliance with like-minded Opposition parties to defeat the BJP in Goa.
He joined the AAP in 2021 after a decade-long association with the BJP.
Another AAP leader, Shrikrishna Parab, also resigned on the same day.
