India and China Work to Reduce Border Trust Deficit
India and China are trying to get along better at their border in Ladakh.
Since 2020, they've had disagreements, so now they are using new technology to watch the border.
They're also coordinating patrols so soldiers don't bump into each other.
The goal is to build trust and talk about more complicated issues later.
They're working on solving smaller border problems first.
Both sides are still keeping many troops at the border.
They've held many talks and meetings to make sure things stay peaceful.
India and China are implementing measures to reduce the trust deficit at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Greater reliance on technical surveillance infrastructure is being used to monitor the LAC.
Coordinated patrols are being conducted to avoid clashes between troops.
An expert group has been set up to explore early solutions to border issues.
Around 50,000-60,000 troops are still stationed on both sides of the LAC.
