IFCI Shares Draw Attention Ahead of Potential NSE Listing

IFCI Shares Draw Attention Ahead of Potential NSE Listing

IFCI is getting attention because it indirectly owns part of NSE.

IFCI owns about 52.8% of SHCIL.

SHCIL owns about 4.4% of NSE.

Together, this gives IFCI indirect economic exposure of nearly 2.3% of NSE.

If NSE lists its shares publicly, people may find it easier to estimate this investment’s value.

For example, a Rs 5 lakh crore NSE valuation would make SHCIL’s stake worth nearly Rs 22,000 crore and IFCI’s share of that exposure nearly Rs 11,000 crore.

This would not automatically put money into IFCI’s bank account.

The actual benefit depends on the listing valuation, whether SHCIL sells shares, taxes and costs, and how the money is used.
