Govt Plans EV Roadside Rescue Hubs
The government is planning to add special help spots for electric vehicles (EVs) on highways.
These spots will offer quick fixes, battery help, towing, and real-time assistance.
The first place to get these spots is likely to be the new Delhi–Mumbai Expressway.
This will make it easier and safer for people driving electric cars on long trips.
MoRTH is examining changes to guidelines for way-side amenities (WSAs) to include EV-focused infrastructure.
Proposed infrastructure includes rapid diagnostics, minor repairs, battery support, towing, and real-time assistance.
The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway (1,300 km) is likely to be the first long-distance corridor with these facilities.
Integrated control centers will provide real-time assistance.
The goal is to create an end-to-end EV-supportive route between two major metropolitan regions.
