ACB Files Case Against SICOP Officials Over Alleged Illegal Appointment
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir has filed a case against two officials.
The first is R K Razdan, who was the former managing director of the Jammu and Kashmir Small Scale Industrial Development Corporation (SICOP).
The second is Kunal Choudhary, who is currently a deputy general manager at SICOP.
The ACB alleges that Razdan appointed Choudhary as a technical assistant in 2006 without following proper procedures.
This included not advertising the job or considering other candidates.
After six months, Choudhary was made a permanent employee without meeting the necessary criteria.
Later, he was promoted to manager and then to deputy general manager without proper advertisements or considering seniority.
The ACB says these actions were illegal and involved abuse of power and conspiracy.
ACB registered a case against former SICOP MD R K Razdan and current DGM Kunal Choudhary for alleged illegal appointment.
Choudhary was appointed as a technical assistant in 2006 without advertisement or considering other candidates.
After six months of temporary service, Choudhary was regularized without meeting eligibility criteria or government sanction.
Choudhary was promoted to manager and then to DGM without proper advertisements or considering seniority.
The ACB alleges abuse of official position and criminal conspiracy in the appointment and promotion process.
