Lindsay Clancy Jury Deadlocks as Murder Trial Reaches Decision

Lindsay Clancy Jury Deadlocks as Murder Trial Reaches Decision

A jury is deciding whether Lindsay Clancy is guilty in the deaths of her three children.

The jurors said they could not agree on one decision.

The judge told them to keep talking because they might still reach a verdict.

If they cannot agree, the judge may declare a mistrial.

This is called a hung jury.

It is different from finding someone not guilty.

After a hung jury, prosecutors may be allowed to hold another trial.

Clancy’s lawyers say she was experiencing postpartum psychosis when the children died.

Prosecutors have pointed to evidence that she planned when her husband would be away from home.
