EPFO Sets 20-Day Deadline for PF, Pension Claims
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in India has set a new rule that says they must process claims for provident fund, pension, and insurance within 20 days.
If they don't do this, they have to pay a penalty.
If your claim is not settled within 20 days, you can complain to the Regional PF Commissioner or use the EPFiGMS website.
The new rules also make sure that the EPFO and employers follow digital compliance to make things easier for everyone.
The rules were announced on June 29, 2026, and they don't change how much you contribute to your provident fund.
EPFO must settle PF, pension, and insurance claims within 20 days.
Penal interest of 12% per annum applies for delays without sufficient cause.
Employees can escalate delayed claims through EPFiGMS or the Regional PF Commissioner.
No changes to EPF contribution structure; focus on digital compliance.
