304 gelatin sticks recovered from Bengal; one arrested
Police in a part of India called West Bengal found a big pile of explosive sticks hidden inside a house.
Explosive sticks are very dangerous materials that can be used to blow things up.
The police raided the house after someone secretly told them about it.
They found 304 of these explosive sticks.
The person who owns the house was arrested and taken to court.
A judge said the police can keep questioning him.
The police want to know where the explosives came from and what they were for.
They are worried someone might have planned to use them to hurt people.
Recently, police have found lots of other explosives in the same area too.
They are working hard to keep people safe.
Birbhum District Police recovered 304 gelatin sticks from a private residence in Ayas village, Rampurhat, on Friday.
House owner Shariful Islam was arrested, questioned, and later remanded to police custody by a Birbhum district court.
Investigators are questioning him about the source of the explosives and whether they were intended for insurgency activities.
The seizure follows a July 29 recovery of 12,400 gelatin sticks, 800 kg ammonium nitrate and detonators in Lakhnamara village, Nalhati Block.
West Bengal Police's intelligence wing had increased surveillance after arrests linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Shahzad Bhatti Network, and an ISI-linked Pakistani national.
