Manipur Police Arrest Another for Fuel Station Bombing
Police in Manipur have arrested a 41-year-old man for his role in a bomb explosion at a fuel station.
The explosion happened on January 8 in the Moirang Thana Leikai area, causing all fuel stations in the valley to close for three days.
The man was caught in Imphal West district on January 15.
He had weapons and explosives with him.
Another person, a 35-year-old member of a banned group, was also arrested earlier.
The police are still investigating the incident.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on January 15 for his alleged involvement in a bomb explosion at a fuel station in Manipur's Bishnupur district.
The explosion occurred on January 8 at Elidas fuel station in Moirang Thana Leikai, leading to a three-day closure of all fuel stations in the valley areas.
The accused was an accomplice of the main suspect in the bomb blast and was apprehended in Lamphel Sana Keithel, Imphal West district.
A cache of arms and ammunition, including an SMG carbine, four loaded magazines, a 9 mm pistol, two hand-grenades, and two detonators, was recovered from his possession.
Earlier, a 35-year-old cadre of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) was arrested from the Komnao Makha Leikai area in Kakching district.
