CJP Leader Says Rajasthan Police Detained Him in Alwar

Deepak Baliyan is a leader in the Cockroach Janata Party.

He says police took him from his home in Alwar on October 8 and let him go later that night.

Baliyan says officers took his phone and slippers and made him sign a paper saying they had not beaten him.

His family says he filmed the police visit and that officers took him after he would not delete the video.

A police officer said the team had gone to explain a rule that was in force in Delhi.

The officer denied that police took Baliyan’s phone.

The party and police therefore gave different accounts of what happened.
