How to Spot Fresh, Genuine Motichoor Laddus During Festivals

Motichoor laddus are popular sweets served during celebrations.

Good ones usually have very tiny, even boondi pearls.

They should feel soft and break easily.

Their colour should be golden or gently orange, not extremely bright.

They should smell pleasant, like ghee, cardamom or saffron.

A good laddu should not taste only like sugar.

Check that it is not too dry, greasy, stale or mouldy.

Buy from a clean, trusted shop and check package details when available.

These checks help, but they cannot prove that a sweet is completely free from adulteration.
