PJTAU Scientists to Take Crop Innovations Directly to Telangana Farmers

A Telangana agricultural university wants to help farmers grow a wider range of crops.

Its new programme is called Innovation to Impact.

It is planned to start during the Rabi season and run for two years.

Scientists will work in 12 regional centres.

At each centre, they will support farmers in four villages.

Farmers will receive advice and technologies suited to their local conditions.

The scientists will check how the methods work in the fields.

The project aims to improve harvests and farmers’ earnings.

The university also hopes the work will help make pulses and oilseeds more available.
