Supreme Court Pushes for Swift Judicial Appointments
The Supreme Court is trying to get the government to speed up the process of appointing new judges.
The Chief Justice of India said they are working on this behind the scenes.
A case was brought to the court asking them to tell the government to act faster on recommendations for new judges.
Some of these recommendations have been waiting since 2019.
Because of the delays, some lawyers who were supposed to become judges have withdrawn their willingness to be appointed.
One of them was a very talented woman from Delhi, according to the Chief Justice.
