Former Judge’s Book Restored, Now in Global Archives

Former Judge’s Book Restored, Now in Global Archives

A book written by a former judge in 1980 was lost in India for more than 40 years.

In 2025, the judge’s granddaughter, Sonia Roy, found old copies in U.S. libraries and started a project to bring the book back.

She restored the book and sent it to many important law libraries around the world, like the British Library and the International Court of Justice.

The book was officially re‑opened in Calcutta on August 29, 2025, where the judge used to work.

This shows how a forgotten book can still be important for people everywhere.
