Self‑Help Groups to Run Food Courts at Simhastha Kumbh
The Simhastha Kumbh Mela is a big festival in Nashik where millions of people come to pray.
To help them eat, local women’s groups will run food stalls.
They will serve tasty local foods and drinks.
This will give many women jobs.
The plan also makes sure the food is fresh and safe even in the rainy season.
Self‑help groups will operate food courts at Simhastha Kumbh in Nashik.
The initiative involves over 80,000 groups and aims to employ more than 10,000 rural women.
Food courts will offer local Maharashtrian dishes and small packaged items for pilgrims on the move.
CEO Omkar Pawar highlighted herbal tea, buttermilk, and medicinal drinks to be served during the monsoon.
The project seeks to provide clean, fresh, and nutritious food to more than 3 crore pilgrims.
