Passenger Fires Shot at Varanasi Airport, Injuring Two Staff

A man was at an airport in Varanasi, India, getting ready to catch a flight to Mumbai with his wife.

He was flying on an airline called Air India Express.

Before flying, he told airport staff that he had a weapon with him.

On Sunday morning, during the safety check of the weapon, it fired a shot.

The shot hurt two workers who help check luggage and people at the airport.

The hurt workers were taken to a hospital called the New Laxmi Trauma Centre for treatment.

The local police were also told about what happened.

The person in charge of the airport confirmed the story and said the passenger had declared his weapons before the flight.

Security teams and airport officials are now investigating what happened.

Firing a weapon at an airport is a very serious event because airports are busy places with many people.
