Bhogapuram Airport and Mulapeta Port to Drive VRZ Growth
Two big projects, an airport in Bhogapuram and a seaport in Mulapeta, are getting ready to open soon.
The airport is expected to start in April 2025, and the seaport in June 2025.
These projects will bring a lot of new industries and jobs to the area.
Big companies like ExxonMobil and Haldia Petrochemicals are planning to invest a lot of money there.
New roads and other infrastructure are also being built to support these projects.
Together, they will help the Visakhapatnam region grow and become more important.
Bhogapuram International Airport is expected to be commissioned in April 2025, with calibration tests completed in June 2024.
Mulapeta Seaport is progressing rapidly, with trial berthing expected in March 2025 and commissioning slated for June 2025.
Mega industries like ExxonMobil, Haldia Petrochemicals, Yamna, and Kalyani Steels have proposed investments of around ₹2 lakh crore.
Major connectivity upgrades, including seven road projects linking Visakhapatnam to the airport, will be completed by May 2025.
The projects are expected to boost industrial growth and generate large-scale employment in the Visakhapatnam Regional Zone (VRZ).
