Mohali Court Orders Property Attachment Over Unpaid Land Dues
The people of Bhaggo Majra village in Mohali are supposed to get money for the land that GMADA took from them.
The court said GMADA should pay the farmers back in 2016, but they haven't yet.
Now, the court has ordered that some things from the GMADA office can be taken away to make sure the farmers get their money.
The company that was supposed to pay the farmers is Unitech.
The farmers had to go to court for years to get the money that they were owed.
Some people are upset that the government is taking more land when they haven't paid for land they already took.
Mohali residents gathered at the GMADA office due to a court order.
The District and Sessions Court ordered the attachment of GMADA's movable property.
The order was due to GMADA's failure to pay Rs 3.98 crore in compensation to farmers.
