Telangana Government Moves to Clear Decades-Old ULC Applications
The Telangana government wants to solve old land cases.
Many Urban Land Ceiling applications have been waiting for decades.
Officials will check these applications and approve the ones that follow the rules.
The government said an earlier order from 2016 was not properly carried out.
This left thousands of cases unresolved.
A new memo tells officials how to review applications covered by older government orders.
The government is also using a fast-track process for some properties marked under Section 22-A.
These properties can be registered if they have approval from the relevant authorities and meet the legal requirements.
Telangana officials were directed to examine and regularise eligible Urban Land Ceiling applications pending for decades.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said a 2016 Government Order on pending ULC cases was never effectively implemented.
The government said thousands of unresolved applications created difficulties with land titles and property transactions.
Memo No. 48062/ULC/A1/2026-1 directs review of applications filed under Government Orders 455, 456, 747 and 92.
A fast-track process will allow registration of eligible houses, plots and flats approved by authorities despite their previous Section 22-A classification.
