Hyderabad Hostels Face Crackdown Over Safety Violations
Imagine the city is checking up on the places where students and workers live, like hostels.
The city officials, called GHMC, went to 58 different hostels.
They found that many hostels weren't following the rules for keeping food safe, the bathrooms clean, and the buildings safe from fires.
Some hostels had dirty kitchens, no licenses, and were even using parking areas for cooking!
The officials shut down a few kitchens and gave fines to the hostels that weren't following the rules.
They will continue to inspect more hostels and want the hostel owners to make sure everything is clean and safe.
GHMC conducted raids on 58 hostels in Hyderabad.
Raids revealed violations of food safety, sanitation, and fire safety norms.
30 hostels were served notices due to violations.
Five kitchens were shut down, and fines totaling ₹2.45 lakh were imposed.
Inspections occurred in Ameerpet, Ashok Nagar, and Dilsukhnagar.
