Microsoft Edge tests Apple Account sign-in option for profiles
Microsoft Edge is a web browser that people use to explore the internet.
Right now, when you use Edge, you usually need a Microsoft account to save your settings.
Microsoft is trying something new.
It wants to let people sign in with their Apple account instead.
This would help people who use iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers.
They would not have to make a separate Microsoft account just for the browser.
The new option is still being tested.
It is not available to everyone yet.
Microsoft has not said when everyone will get it.
The feature is free, so it will not cost any money to use.
Microsoft Edge is testing Apple Account sign-in for Edge profiles, a move reported by MacRumors.
Two new settings appeared in the latest Edge Canary build: one enables Apple Account sign-in for profiles and another adds an Apple sign-in button to the browser's profile menu.
Microsoft has also listed Apple Account sign-in in the release notes for Edge Beta 152.
The feature is being introduced through a controlled rollout on Windows and macOS, so it may not appear on all devices immediately.
There is no additional charge for the feature, with Microsoft Edge remaining free to use, and no general availability date has been announced.
