Political Tensions Rise Over Bangladesh Violence
There's a lot of political tension in India right now.
Mithun Chakraborty, a famous actor turned politician, asked Hindus who support different political parties to come together and vote against the current government led by Mamata Banerjee.
He said this to stop Bengal from becoming like Bangladesh, where a young man named Dipu Chandra Das was killed.
Some people from the Trinamool Congress party, which is currently in power, did not like what he said.
They think he is trying to create trouble and is not being fair.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, criticized the opposition for not speaking up about the violence in Bangladesh but protesting about other things happening far away.
There were also protests in Kolkata because of the bad things happening in Bangladesh.
Another controversy happened when a BJP politician said something mean about people who migrated from Bangladesh a long time ago but still don't have Indian citizenship.
The ruling party, Trinamool Congress, was very upset about this and said it shows the BJP doesn't care about these people.
Mithun Chakraborty urged Hindu supporters of various political parties to unite against Mamata Banerjee's government.
Yogi Adityanath criticized the opposition for selective outrage, highlighting the killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.
BJP MLA Asim Sarkar sparked controversy by saying names of Matua community members should be deleted from electoral rolls if they can't obtain citizenship.
Trinamool Congress criticized both Chakraborty's remarks and Sarkar's comments, calling them divisive and arrogant.
The Bangladesh government condemned the killing of Dipu Chandra Das and promised support to his family.
