Yemen Market Strike Kills Seven as Sides Dispute Target

Yemen Market Strike Kills Seven as Sides Dispute Target

A strike happened at a market area in Yemen’s Taiz province on Sunday.

Seven people died and 40 were hurt, including children.

Houthi officials said the strike hit shops and harmed civilians.

A local source also reported that Saudi airstrikes struck commercial stores.

Yemen’s internationally recognised government gave a different account.

It said its forces attacked a Houthi military camp and vehicles near the market.

The incident happened during a new rise in fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces.

The fighting has increased concerns about Yemen’s humanitarian crisis and the safety of a major Red Sea shipping route.
