Lok Sabha Adjourned Amid Opposition Protests
The Lok Sabha, which is like the main meeting place for India's lawmakers, started its Monsoon Session on Monday.
But soon after it began, the Opposition members, who are the groups that are not in the current government, started shouting and demanding that they want to talk about two big issues.
One is about some problems in a big exam called NEET, and the other is about some money that was supposed to be donated to a temple but might have been stolen.
The person in charge, called the Speaker, asked everyone to be quiet and let the meeting go on, but the shouting continued.
So, the Speaker decided to stop the meeting and said they would start again later at 12 noon.
Before the meeting, some Opposition leaders said they would keep asking for these discussions.
They also said that the government doesn't seem ready to talk about these important issues.
One leader even said that the whole country knows these are the big things they should be talking about, but the government doesn't have any plan to do so.
Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 noon on the first day of the Monsoon Session.
Opposition MPs demanded discussions on NEET controversy and Ram Mandir donation embezzlement.
Speaker Om Birla appealed for cooperation but adjourned the House due to continuous sloganeering.
Congress leaders had announced they would press for discussions on these issues.
The Monsoon Session is scheduled to continue till August 13.
