Babita Singh Reporting Delivers A Slow-Burn Feminist Mystery
Babita Singh Reporting is about a police officer named Baby.
She is often ignored and mocked by people at work and at home.
After she is suspended, she visits the town of Rewa with her husband.
Her old friend Bansi is killed after trying to speak with her.
Baby begins looking into what happened, even though people doubt her.
The investigation helps her become more confident and understand what she wants.
The story also shows how unfair expectations can burden women.
The film is praised for its setting, mystery and Nimisha Sajayan’s acting.
However, the reviewer feels the ending does not provide a satisfying enough payoff.
Nimisha Sajayan plays Baby, a timid police officer working at a station desk.
After a workplace case goes wrong, Baby is suspended and travels to Rewa with her husband.
Her childhood friend Bansi is murdered after asking to meet her confidentially.
Baby investigates Bansi’s death while confronting sexism, family pressure and doubts about her abilities.
The review praises Sajayan and the film’s atmosphere but says its ending is disappointing.
