Maharashtra Civic Polls: BJP Wins Big

The recent civic polls in Maharashtra saw the BJP win big, taking the most wards and securing its first mayor in Mumbai.

The Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Thackeray, managed to hold onto its legacy in Mumbai despite a split in the party.

The Congress put up a decent fight, winning 324 wards.

The AIMIM made significant gains, especially in areas with Muslim voters.

However, the NCP factions faced a setback, failing to control Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

There's speculation about a possible reunion between the NCP factions after Ajit Pawar visited Sharad Pawar's residence.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Nana Patole has demanded that upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections be conducted using ballot papers instead of electronic voting machines, citing declining public trust in the electoral process.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attributed the BJP's victory to the acceptance of PM Modi's leadership and the BJP's vision of development.
