Bengaluru Metro Gets New Managing Director Amidst Expansion Plans
The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has a new boss, Dr. J Ravishankar.
He's taking over from Maheshwar Rao, who was also criticized for raising the metro fares and delaying the launch of the Yellow Line.
The Yellow Line is supposed to connect two areas and is still waiting for the trains to arrive.
Right now, the metro has two lines, and more lines are being built.
A new project is expected to finish in 2029 which will make the metro bigger and add more stations.
Dr. J Ravishankar, a 2001-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of BMRCL.
Ravishankar replaces Maheshwar Rao, who previously held the position on additional charge.
Rao faced criticism for increasing metro fares and delaying the Yellow Line launch.
