Kyiv Faces Severe Wartime Energy Crisis
Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, is having a really big problem with electricity.
The city needs a lot of power to keep things running for its 3.6 million people, but right now, it only has about half of what it needs.
This is because Russia has been attacking Ukraine's power stations and other important buildings.
The mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said this is the worst energy crisis they've had since the war started.
Many buildings don't have heating, and it's very cold.
Other countries are helping by sending generators, and workers are trying to fix the damage as fast as they can.
Kyiv has only about half of the 1,700 megawatts of electricity it needs daily.
The energy crisis is the most severe since Russia's invasion in February 2022.
Russian attacks have caused significant damage to Kyiv's infrastructure.
About 100 buildings still lack heating after a recent Russian strike.
Ukraine has declared an energy emergency due to the grid's critical state.
