Rajasthan HC Grants Relief to PG Medical Students
Imagine doctors who are studying more after becoming MBBS doctors.
The government wanted these doctors to work in government hospitals for two years after they finished their advanced studies.
They had to promise this by signing a paper saying that if they didn't work for two years, they would pay 10 lakh rupees.
The doctors challenged this rule.
A court in Jaipur, the Rajasthan High Court, decided that the doctors should get their original documents back, but they still had to promise to work or pay the money.
The court also said that another court would make the final decision.
Rajasthan High Court granted relief to MBBS graduates in a case related to post-PG senior residency.
The court directed medical institutions, including SMS Medical College, to return original documents.
Petitioners must provide an undertaking to the state government to serve or pay a bond.
The bond amount is set at Rs 10 lakhs if the senior residency is not completed.
The state government's review petition was dismissed by Justice Sameer Jain.
