Jharkhand Women Build Road After Government Delays
In a village in India, the women were tired of waiting for a road.
They decided to take matters into their own hands and built one themselves!
Using money they saved and some help from their village, 25 women worked hard to create a road.
This made it easier to get to the hospital, and it also meant people from other villages were more willing to connect with theirs.
The government had promised a road but hadn't delivered, so the women's effort brought much-needed change to their community.
They are hoping for the government to pave a concrete road later, but they are happy with what they've accomplished.
A women's self-help group in Jharkhand built a road after the government failed to do so.
The women used funds from the Maiya Samman Yojana and village contributions to finance the project.
The lack of a road had caused several problems for villagers, including healthcare access issues.
The road was completed before Dussehra after the group decided to take action.
Local government officials praised the women's efforts.
