Sub-registrar arrested in Mundhwa land deal case
A sub-registrar named Ravindra Taru was arrested for his role in a land deal in Pune.
The deal involved a company where Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is a partner.
The land, called Mahar watan land, was sold for Rs 300 crore, much less than its market value.
The sale happened without proper government approval.
Another person, Sheetal Tejwani, who had the power to sell the land, was also arrested.
The police are investigating how the deal was made and who benefited from it.
The land was originally meant for a community called Mahars and was leased to a government survey organization.
Sub-registrar Ravindra Taru arrested for registering a land sale deed involving Parth Pawar's firm, Amadea Enterprises LLP.
The deal involved 40 acres of Mahar watan land in Mundhwa, Pune, sold for Rs 300 crore, allegedly below market value.
Sheetal Tejwani, who had power of attorney for the landowners, was also arrested for her role in the transaction.
The land sale is alleged to have taken place without prior government approval, which is required for Mahar watan land.
Police are investigating the financial aspects of the deal, including how the Rs 300 crore was handled and whether the original landowners received any money.
