SBI Reports 10% Net Profit Rise in Q2 FY26 Driven by Yes Bank Stake Sale

SBI, a big bank in India, shared its financial results for the three months ending September.

They made more money than last year, about 10% more, which is over 20,000 crore rupees!

A big reason for this extra money was that they sold some of their shares in two other banks, Yes Bank and Jio Payments Bank.

This sale brought in a large profit.

Even though they made money from selling shares, the money they earned from their main banking activities, like lending money and taking deposits, also grew a little bit.

Their business of lending money and taking deposits grew by about 3.3%.

Also, the bank is doing a better job of managing the money that isn't being paid back by borrowers, meaning fewer 'bad loans'.
