Odisha installs oil content awareness boards
The government of Odisha is putting up special boards at places that take care of children, like anganwadi centres.
These boards will show how much oil is in common fried snacks like samosas and pakoras.
They will also explain how eating too much oil can make people sick, causing problems like heart disease and obesity.
The boards will be in two languages, Odia and English, so more people can understand them.
The government wants to help people make healthier food choices and avoid eating too many unhealthy snacks.
They have also asked these places to use their own money to print and put up these boards quickly.
This is part of a bigger plan to make people in Odisha more aware of healthy eating.
Odisha is installing oil content awareness boards at anganwadi centres and child care institutions to educate about health hazards of high-oil foods.
Boards will display oil content in common fried items and health risks like heart disease, obesity, and fatty liver.
Information will be bilingual in Odia and English for wider outreach.
Institutions must follow a prototype design and use contingency funds for printing and installation.
Government aims to promote healthier food choices and reinforce behavioural change among children and caregivers.
