Air India receives first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in eight years

Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, has received a new airplane called the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

This is the first time in eight years that Air India has gotten this type of airplane.

The airplane was officially given to Air India on January 7th at a Boeing factory in Seattle.

Before the airplane can start flying in India, it needs to be checked by a group called the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Once it passes these checks, the airplane will fly to India in the next few days.

This is also the first time Air India has gotten a new airplane directly from Boeing since it was bought by the Tata Group in January 2022.

The new airplane has seats for different classes of travel: economy, premium economy, and business class.

Air India has also ordered many more airplanes from Boeing and Airbus to make its fleet bigger and better.
