Vijay Urges Modi to Release Funds, Approve Tamil Nadu Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chennai to open and announce infrastructure projects.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay met him and asked for more support from the Union government.

Vijay requested approvals for metro and highway projects.

He also asked for ₹5,110 crore meant for school education to be released without conditions.

The Union government has tied this money to Tamil Nadu following parts of the National Education Policy.

Tamil Nadu has rejected the policy's three-language formula and says education funding should not be withheld because of that disagreement.

Vijay also asked for the Godavari-Cauvery river-linking project to be treated as a national priority.

He raised Tamil Nadu's proposal to allow Tamil in Madras High Court proceedings.
