Madhya Pradesh Home to Over 10 Lakh Stray Dogs, Sees High Bite Incidents

Imagine there are lots of stray dogs in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India – more than 10 lakh of them!

That's a huge number.

Many of these dogs live in big cities like Indore, Bhopal, and Jabalpur.

Because there are so many stray dogs, many people are getting bitten.

In just one year, the city of Indore had over 30,000 dog bites!

Other cities like Bhopal and Jabalpur also had many people get bitten.

To help fix this problem, a group called the National Health Mission is working to stop rabies in these cities.

They hope to make the cities free of rabies in the coming years.
