Grierson Trust Chair Lorraine Heggessey to Step Down

The head of a documentary organization called the Grierson Trust, Lorraine Heggessey, is leaving her job after more than a decade.

The Grierson Trust supports documentary filmmakers and helps people from different backgrounds get into the field.

Under Heggessey, the trust grew, creating training programs with companies like Netflix and Amazon.

The Trust also gives out awards for documentaries.

Some people in the community felt the Trust acted too quickly when they fired Asif Kapadia as a patron.

The Trust has also banned someone from their events after they confronted Jewish people at the awards.

The organization is now looking for a new leader.
