Sandakphu to get 10 container homes for tourists from next year
Sandakphu, a popular tourist spot in the Darjeeling district of India, is going to get 10 new container homes for tourists starting next year.
These homes will be air-conditioned and easy to install, making it a comfortable place for visitors to stay.
The idea came because there aren't many good places to stay right now, and the area is hard to reach.
The homes will be booked online, and there will also be new tourist information centres in the area.
People who work in tourism there are happy about this because it will bring more tourists and make their stay better.
Sandakphu, the highest point in Bengal, will get 10 air-conditioned container homes for tourists starting next year.
The project aims to provide better accommodation for the 3.5 to 4 lakh tourists who visit annually.
The container homes are chosen for their affordability, eco-friendliness, and ease of installation in remote areas.
Bookings for the container homes will be available online through the tourism department.
Additionally, 100 tourist information centres will be set up across the hills and Dooars, offering accommodation, local handicrafts, and food plazas.
