ED Seizes ₹21 Lakh in Probe into Alleged ₹200-Crore CSR Diversion

ED Seizes ₹21 Lakh in Probe into Alleged ₹200-Crore CSR Diversion

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating what it says may have been a scheme involving company donations for social projects.

The agency says about ₹200 crore passed through trusts and other organizations.

It alleges that some promised projects were only partly done or not done at all.

Investigators also say some bills were inflated and money moved through shell companies.

The ED says intermediaries helped arrange donations and that some money may have been returned to private companies as cash.

It also says recommendations from public representatives helped some trusts receive donations.

During searches at eight locations, officers seized about ₹21 lakh, documents and digital devices.

The investigation is still underway, and the allegations have not been established as facts in court.
