MP Government Defends New Promotion Policy
The Madhya Pradesh government told the high court that their new promotion policy does not have a rule to exclude the creamy layer.
This policy has been delayed because some people are arguing that the state does not have enough data to support it.
The government said that the people who filed the petition do not have a right to be involved in this matter, but the court did not agree.
Now, another group will get a chance to argue their side in court.
The main point is about whether certain groups should be excluded from getting promotions based on their income level.
Madhya Pradesh government informed the High Court that the new promotion policy does not exclude the creamy layer.
The policy has been on hold due to legal challenges over implementing the creamy layer principle for SC/ST/OBC reservations.
Petitioners argued that the state lacks data to justify the policy and demanded clarity on identifying the creamy layer.
The government stated that petitioners and interveners have no locus standi in the matter, but the court overruled this argument.
The next step is for Anusuchit Jati & Janjati Adhikari Evam Karmachari Sangh (AJJAKS) to argue their case in the High Court.
