Hindu College Staff Challenge Admissions After Quota Allocation Error

Hindu College teachers are unhappy about how some special admission seats were distributed.

These seats were meant for students with achievements in sports and extracurricular activities.

In the first admission round, many seats went to Commerce and Political Science.

University rules say one course should not receive more than 20 percent of these seats.

Teachers said this rule was not followed and asked for an investigation.

The University of Delhi said a computer programming mistake caused the problem.

It also said the students who received seats had earned enough points to qualify.

The college principal said she did not directly make the admission decisions.

The staff association responded by passing a no-confidence motion against her.
